If possible, turn your fur inside out (so the fur is in the “middle”).
Wash in COLD water, delicate cycle. Hot or Warm water will ruin your fur. Add Liquid Fabric Softener to the rinse cycle to make your fur softer. (If your fur has been to the desert and is caked with playa, add a little vinegar to the wash cycle. It helps de-static that nasty dust.)
Take your fur out of the washing machine and shake it out to get the fur all going the same direction.
AIR DRY your fur – DO NOT DRY IN CLOTHES DRYER!! Not even for a minute. Clothes dryers will ruin your fur.
If your fur needs to be brushed, use a brush with metal bristles. Brush when the fur is dry. DO NOT brush your fur when it is wet.
HEAT IS BAD FOR YOUR FUR!!! Keep your fur away from heat sources. Any kind of heat – fire (open flames), heaters, radiators – are all BAD for your fur.
Long exposure to the sun can fade your fur, so when you are not wearing it, keeping out of direct sun light.
With a little care, your fur will last you for years and keep you toasty warm.
