Paulownia wood has been favored in Japan since ancient times as material for chests and drawers because, in addition to being light and sturdy, it is high in humidity control, high in insulation effectiveness, and high in pest control. For these reasons, paulownia wood has also been used to build shrine kagura halls, shrine repositories, and even castles. Such material, which has a natural ability to regulate temperature/humidity for a cool summer and warm winter is of course, effective as a pet house.
